Overview
Dorothea Fields is a dedicated single mother in her mid-50s raising her teenage boy, Jamie, in 1979 Santa Barbara, California, at a time brimming with cultural transition and revolt. Dorothea enlists the assistance of two younger women to help with Jamie’s upbringing: Abbie, a free-spirited punk artist working as a boarder in the Fields’ household, and Julie, a savvy and provocative adolescent neighbor.
