In 1818, Fanny Brawne, a fiery young woman, becomes gradually enamored by the handsome yet reclusive poet John Keats, who stays next door to her family’s friends the Dilkes. She is much more attracted to the reclusive Keats after reading a book of his poems. Despite agreeing to teach her about poetry, Keats is unable to act on his feelings for Fanny since he is a starving poet with little resources to help a wife.
