Bud and Doyle are two slackers who are wasting their time. Both of their girlfriends are interested in environmental activism, but the two mates are unconcerned towards the climate. When a group of scientists sets out on a quest to live for a year inside a “”Bio-Dome”” with no outside touch, Bud and Doyle unwittingly become part of the effort.
