When a hero dies, a legend emerges.
The Great Eastern Federation and Europa – now merged as Eurasia – have been at odds for fifty years, and it has taken its toll on planet Earth. Most of the Earth has become uninhabitable as a consequence of the use of infectious, chemical, and nuclear technology, and humans have become susceptible to emerging diseases. Professor Azuma’s “”neo-cell”” prototype, which was meant to be the solution to humanity’s problems, turns into a nightmare as mutants spawned from the lab flee and wage war on humanity. Tetsuya, Azuma’s son who died in the previous battle, is resurrected as the cyborg Casshern, humanity’s only chance against the latest mutant invasion. This live-action sci-fi film is based on the same-named Japanese anime from 1973.
