Caius Martius, also known as Coriolanus, is a haughty and formidable general who has made a profession out of defending Rome from its foes. Coriolanus tries out his mortal rival, Tullus Aufidius, after being expelled from Rome due to a riot. They make a pact to conquer the great city together.
