Sue Ellen Crandell, a teen, is looking forward to her mother’s summer vacation. Sue Ellen will drink and have fun as the babysitter watches after her rowdy younger siblings. The babysitter, however, dies unexpectedly, leaving the Crandells cash-strapped. Sue Ellen gets a nice work in fashion by lying on her résumé about her age and experience. However, although her brothers are having a good time, she learns the disadvantages of adulthood.
