Overview
Douzi was adopted by a theater troupe after being abandoned by his prostitute mother in 1920. He meets Shitou there, and the two create an act called “”Farewell My Concubine”” that gives them success and wealth over the years. When Shitou marries Juxian, Doutzi becomes envious, and the explosive split and devastating collapse of the acting couple begins.
