Overview

Walt Kowalski, a widower and Korean War veteran, is a grumpy, prejudiced, tough-minded, miserable old man who can’t get along with his children or his neighbors. His prized possession is a 1972 Gran Torino that he meticulously maintains. As his next-door friend, Thao—a young Hmong boy under the influence of his gang member cousin—attempts to rob his Gran Torino, Walt sets out to transform him and defend Thao and his family from the gangs that plague their neighborhood.
