Ann finds herself stranded in a jungle, foraging for food and followed only by a radio that emits a single transmission in French, after a horrific epidemic wipes out human society. Only the roving armies of infected beings with a hunger for human flesh seem to be the only survivors. Ann meets up with two more survivors, Chris and Olivia, on a tragic day. However, after spending so much time on her own, she finds it difficult to appeal to them and their determination to settle down and establish a new group.
