April is cherry blossom season, and the last of the blossoms are already in flower. In a hospital waiting area, the normally aloof bookworm with little interest in anyone comes across a book. The terms “”Living with Dying”” are handwritten on the cover. He soon learns that it is a journal held by Sakura Yamauchi, one of his most famous and sincere classmates, who reveals to him that she is suffering from a pancreatic illness and only has a short time left. It is at this point that she wins yet another individual with whom she can share her secret. Sakura is eager to live her life to the utmost until the very last day, attempting to keep a regular life as far as possible. His heart starts to steadily shift when her free spirit and erratic behaviour send him for a loop.
