Overview
Therese is stuck in a loveless marriage to the sickly Camille by her domineering aunt, Madame Raquin, in 1860s Paris. She works behind the counter of a small store throughout the day and watches Madame play dominos with an eclectic collection of people in the evenings. She embarks on an immoral affair after meeting her husband’s alluring mate, Laurent, which ends tragically. Thérèse Raquin is based on Emile Zola’s book.
