Overview

The acclaimed feudal epic by Akira Kurosawa tells the story of a petty thief who is hired to impersonate Shingen, an ageing warlord, in order to escape assaults by rival clans. When Shingen dies, his generals reluctantly submit to the impostor succeeding him as the powerful emperor. He quickly grows to love life as Shingen, but his dedication to the position is put to the test when he must lead his troops into combat against a rival warlord’s armies.
