Meet the Spartans is a tongue-in-cheek spoof of sword-and-sandal epics by the makers of Scary Movie and Date Movie. Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, who co-wrote and produced the film for 20th Century Fox, wrote and directed it. Although Leonidas could only have a robe and some leather underwear to shield him from his Persian foes’ razor-sharp blades, members of a Yorkshire division of the Women’s Institute stir up outrage by posing naked for a charity calendar.
