Overview
Mr. Meacham, an elderly woodcarver, has fascinated local children for years with stories of a fierce dragon that lives deep in the Pacific Northwest’s forests. These legends are nothing more than tall tales to his daughter, Grace, who works as a forest ranger… before she encounters Pete, a strange 10-year-old with no relatives and no house who appears to live in the woods with a huge, green dragon called Elliott. Elliott seems to be strikingly identical to the dragon from Mr. Meacham’s tales, based on Pete’s descriptions. Grace sets off to discover where Pete comes from, where he belongs, and the reality about this dragon with the aid of Natalie, an 11-year-old girl whose father Jack operates the nearby lumber mill.
