As tall as the men who took on this challenge! As fearless as the women who adored them!
With the aid of his devoted trail hand, Groot, and his protégé, Matthew Garth, an orphan Dunson took under his wing when he was a child, Thomas Dunson establishes a prosperous Texas cattle ranch. Following the Civil War, Dunson and Matt lead a cattle drive to Missouri in the hopes of getting a decent deal than they will find locally, but the crotchety old man and his willful young companion start butting heads on the tedious journey.
