Tony, fresh out of jail following a five-year sentence, declines a swift job offered by his buddy Jo, before he learns that his old girlfriend Mado has been the lover of local gangster Pierre Grutter during his absence. Tony and his gang seem to get away clean after expanding a small smash-and-grab into a full-scale diamond heist, but their acts after the job is done endanger the life of anyone concerned.
