Charlie MacKenzie falls for lovely butcher Harriet Michaels and reveals her to his parents shortly after a bad split. His friends, but, as voracious readers of gossip tabloids, soon presume Harriet is a suspected child murderer known as “”Mrs. X,”” wanted in connection with a series of strange honeymoon murders. Charlie proposes to Harriet, believing his parents are naive. However, whilst on his honeymoon with her, he starts to worry that they were right.
