Tom Hardy, who comes from a police household, ends up battling his uncle after his father is murdered. Tom suspects the assailant is another officer and goes public with his claims. Tom is demoted to waterway service, and he and his current companion Jo Christman cross the three rivers in search of signs and corpses. Tom must locate the murderer and show his innocence this time since the victims are women he recognizes.
