Dr. Josh Keyes, a geophysicist, learns that the earth’s inner center has stopped spinning due to an unseen power. Our earth is actually coming off at the seams as the planet’s magnetic field deteriorates, with disastrous repercussions. To address the problem, Keyes and a group of the world’s most brilliant scientists fly to the heart of the planet. Their goal was to set off a system that would reactivate the heart.
