The King’s Speech chronicles the life of King George VI, the father of Queen Elizabeth II. George (‘Bertie’) reluctantly takes the throne after his brother abdicates. Bertie, who suffers from a dreaded stutter and is deemed unfit to be ruler, seeks the assistance of Lionel Logue, an unconventional speech therapist. Bertie is able to regain his identity and confidently guide the nation into battle thanks to a set of unexpected tactics and an unusual relationship.
