As part of a bargain to save a community center, dedicated conservation lawyer Lucy Kelson heads to work for billionaire George Wade. George, who is indecisive and weak-willed, becomes increasingly reliant on Lucy for advice on anything from legal issues to clothes. Lucy offers notice and chooses Harvard graduate June Carter as her successor, exasperated. As Lucy’s tenure at the company draws to a close, she becomes envious of June and reconsiders her decision to leave George.
