It’s just about living. It’s just about passion here. It is just for us.
Celie, an African-American woman born in the South who endures incredible violence and racism, lives for forty years in this epic tale. Things worsen when Celie’s cruel father marries her off to the similarly degrading ‘Mister’ Albert Johnson, leaving Celie to seek companionship anywhere she may. She perseveres, clinging to her hope of one day reuniting with her African sister.
