Gerry and Tom Jeffers are having a difficult time adjusting to marital life. Tom is an inventor/architect, and they don’t have any income to survive on. When Gerry encounters a wealthy businessman who is being shown around as a potential resident, they are about to be evicted from their apartment. He offers Gerry $700 to start over, but Tom doesn’t believe her account, and the two battle. Gerry agrees the marriage is over and schedules a smooth divorce in Palm Beach, but Tom has other ideas.
