Belle, her younger sibling, and her comatose twin brother move in with their single mother Joan in order to raise funds for her brother’s costly medical treatment. But, when odd occurrences in the house continue to arise, including her brother’s dramatic healing, Belle starts to believe her Mother isn’t telling her the whole truth, and eventually learns they’ve just moved into the notorious Amityville house.
