Mr. Bean, a childlike Englishman, is an inept watchman at the Royal National Gallery. Since the museum’s effort to dismiss him is thwarted by the chairman, who has taken a shine to Bean, they assign him to Los Angeles to serve as their ambassador for the unveiling of a historic artwork in order to humiliate him. Mr. Bean has been duped, and he must now successfully unveil the painting or face losing his job, as well as that of a hapless Los Angeles curator.
