Shinji Ikari wakes up fourteen years after Third Impact in a world he doesn’t recognize. He hasn’t changed over the years. Most of Earth is in ruins, NERV has been decommissioned, and the citizens he once protected have turned on him. Shinji resumes his battle against the demons, befriending the mysterious Kaworu Nagisa, and knows the fight is far from finished, even though it is against his former comrades. The protagonists’ challenges begin between fights with angels and each other, potentially leading to the end of the universe.
