Overview

Fanny and Alexander live happily with their parents, who operate a theater business, as children in the caring Ekdahl household. When their father dies suddenly, the siblings’ mum, Emilie, marries a strict bishop, and they end up in a joyless family. If the bishop becomes more controlling, the grim condition worsens, but loyal relatives make a brave effort to save Emilie, Fanny, and Alexander.
