Miriam takes an unexpected choice after she is unable to afford her college tuition due to a shift of circumstances: she begins acting in pornographic films under the alias Belle Knox. Miriam keeps her double life hidden from her family and peers at college. However, rumors quickly circulate, and Miriam is subjected to malicious cyber assaults and unwelcome exposure. Miriam strikes back by speaking to the media and claiming that her current line of work gives her more influence as a feminist. Her assured posture, though, has unexpected implications.
