Jill Young saw her mother being murdered while saving wild gorillas from poachers headed by Andrei Strasser while she was a child in Africa. Jill is now an adult who looks for an orphaned gorilla called Joe, who is 15 foot tall due to a hereditary mutation. When Gregg O’Hara returns from California and sees the cat, he persuades Jill that Joe is safer at his wildlife refuge. Strasser, on the other hand, leads them to the United States, bent on catching Joe for himself.
