In 1787, the Bounty sails from Portsmouth. Its aim was to sail to Tahiti and load up on breadfruit. Captain Bligh would go to whatever length to get there as quickly as practicable while maintaining tight discipline. When they land in Tahiti, it’s like they’ve arrived in heaven, a far cry from the living hell on the ferry. Officer Fletcher Christian became the leader of a mutiny on the journey back to England.
