Dr. Margaret Matheson, an experienced paranormal investigator, and her teenage associate, Tom Buckley, research a wide range of supernatural manifestations in order to prove their false roots. Simon Silver, a famed blind mystic, reappears after a mysterious 30-year absence to become the biggest foreign threat to both mainstream science and educated skeptics. With each new manifestation of inexplicable occurrences, Tom develops an obsessive fascination with Silver, whose magnetism grows stronger. As Tom gets closer to Silver, anxiety rises, and his whole worldview is jeopardized.
