Mariposa is appointed as the Royal Ambassador of Flutterfield and is tasked with bringing reconciliation to her fairy land’s enemies, the Crystal Fairies of Shimmervale. Mariposa makes a good impact on the King, but she quickly becomes friends with his timid daughter, Princess Catania. Mariposa, on the other hand, is expelled from their fairy world due to a misunderstanding. Mariposa and Zee meet a dark fairy on her quest to kill Shimmervale as they head to Flutterfield. Mariposa runs back to assist Princess Catania in saving their fairy world, and the two girls show that becoming a mate is the only way to make a friend.
