His pistol was his only companion!
Alain Delon portrays Jef Costello, a contract killer with samurai instincts, in a career-defining success. Jef finds himself stuck between a relentless police detective and a cynical boss after carrying out a flawlessly executed hit, and not even his armour of fedora and trench coat will shield him. Le samoura, a maverick producer Jean-Pierre Melville’s elegantly stylized masterpiece of cool, is a razor-sharp cocktail of 1940s American gangster films and 1960s French pop culture—with a liberal dose of Japanese lone-warrior mythology.
