The film is set in 1999, at the end of the previous millennium, and follows Lenny Nero, an ex-cop who now works with data-discs comprising stored memories and emotions. He gets a disk containing the memories of a psychopath who killed a prostitute one day. Lenny investigates and finds himself engulfed in a web of extortion, murder, and rape. Will he be able to fix the case if he survives?
