Overview

The Soviet Union catches US pilot Francis Gary Powers after shooting down his U-2 spy plane during the Cold War. Powers’ best chance is New York lawyer James Donovan, who was hired by a CIA operative to secure his freedom after he was sentenced to ten years in jail. Donovan boards a flight to Berlin in the hopes of securing the young man’s release in a prisoner swap. If all goes according to plan, the Russians will apprehend Rudolf Abel, a suspected spy whom Donovan supported in court.
