Dr. Ryan Stone, a genius medical engineer on her first Shuttle trip, is in charge of veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky’s last flight before retirement. However, tragedy hits during a seemingly scheduled spacewalk. The Shuttle is lost, leaving Stone and Kowalsky utterly isolated and spiraling out into space, tethered to nothing but each other. The deafening silence informs them that they have lost all contact with Earth and are are unable to be rescued. Every gulp of air chips away at what little oxygen is left as anxiety transforms to panic. However, it’s possible that the only path home is to go farther out into the frightening void of existence.
