Beth, Calvin, and their son Conrad are dealing with the loss of their other son. Conrad is so overwhelmed by sorrow and undue remorse that he attempts suicide. He is undergoing treatment. Beth has struggled to be respectful of Conrad because he has still chosen his brother. Calvin is caught in the middle, struggling to keep the family together.
