Overview
His fiancee falls in love with the nearby Italian commander when a Greek fisherman leaves to war with the Greek army during WWII. The film is based on a book about an Italian soldier’s exploits during the Italian conquest of the Greek island of Cephalonia (Kefalonia), but Hollywood trimmed away most of the “”unpleasant”” material to make it a pure love tale.
